We aim to glorify God by equipping the family for daily worship…

Probably the one ministry that makes us distinct among the distinct is our Family Life Ministry. At New Life Church, we value a different approach to Family Life and ministry.

We believe that the best way to equip families to honor God is not through different methods at any given time during the week, but to disciple and equip the men of the family, to lead their households in the way of God.

Probably the most familiar of all verses in the Bible on Family Life and developing a lifestyle of worship is found in Deuteronomy,

 

“And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your sons and talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.” ~Deuteronomy 6.5-7

 

From this passage we can clearly see that family worship is not something that is accomplished unintentionally. We must be deliberate about Family Life and seek to honor God and lead and teach our families to do the same.

Everything in society hinges on the family, even the leadership of the church.

 

“(but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?)” ~I Timothy 3.5

 

And if everything hinges on the family, then everything about the family hinges on the ‘leader’ of the family.

It is imperative that we take a biblical approach to building up the families of New Life Church, by equipping the men of our church to live and to lead properly.

God expects men to shepherd their families in a lifestyle of worship.

We want to see our husbands & fathers leading in daily worship times with their families. There are three simple targets of a family worship time:

1.) Prayer
2.) Celebration (singing)
3.) Reading Scripture

We aim to glorify God by edifying the church to loving one another and good deeds….

Our aim for being an Authentic Community is based on Jesus’ prayer for His disciples in the gospel of John. 

Jesus’ prayer for His disciples (the church) is to love each other and to live in complete unity with one another, and that this union ‘proves’ to the world that the Father sent the Son.

“I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”                     ~John 17.22-23

It’s vitally important that we DO NOT be a church that simply just meets and goes home, but to be a church that:

- knows each other
- loves each other
- protects and provides for each other
- builds each other up in Christ

There is no doubt in our minds that the best way to accomplish this is through small groups that we call ‘Life Groups’.

This is where Authentic Community takes place!

Our Life Groups meet throughout the week at several of our member’s homes.  

Several goals for each of our Life Group times are:

- Bible Study—each Life Group will study and apply the previous Sunday morning sermon together.

- Prayer—each Life Group will be committed to one another and our community by intentionally lifting each other up in prayer.

- Caring—each Life Group will purposefully seek to minister and serve one another during difficult times of trials and suffering. 

- Sharing—each Life Group will deliberately share their    faith through community projects in their selective neighborhoods for demonstrating the love of Christ.
