JAMES

You live what you believe!
 
In his letter to the persecuted and scattered Christians, James writes to encourage and inform them of what their overall response to life should be like from a biblical perspective.  The letter of James is written to engage its audience to evaluate their lives in order to see if their faith is indeed real biblical faith.  He addresses many of the issues that Christians today are wrestling with and waging spiritual war over - issues like poverty, riches, discrimination, oppression, slander, and even sickness.  James challenges his readers to live out and prove their faith in Jesus Christ by introducing them to what we see as the doctrine of effectual living (James 1.21).  It is an incredible letter for the Christian and a sobering letter for those who are not practicing a biblical faith.
